Working in Australia
Australia is proud to say that it has an equal employment opportunity, that it is open-minded, tolerant and fair. Australian workers are modest and they celebrate their successes with a great deal of self restraint and if something does go wrong, there is generally little fuss or drama.
Offices tend to be open plan and the companies run an open door policy, but it is always polite to knock!
There are employment opportunities in most of the fields of work from engineering through to health care. Skills are recognised and required from specialised trades to managerial roles. Each occupation group will have several types of jobs linked, for instance, IT needs software designers to customer service and Healthcare would need doctors through to technicians.
You can find vacancies in the classified section of Australian newspapers, especially on Saturdays, or you can join a recruitment agency. Find a local branch of Centrelink, they can help people from overseas find jobs and/or retrain.
